TAGAMET: For ulcers.
TALWIN-NX: Moderate to severe pain.
TAMIFLU: A pill, which can reduce the number of days a person, has flu symptoms (fever, cough, muscle aches and pains). It does not benefit those with minor symptoms.
TAMBOCOR: Antiarrhythmic agent ... 50 mg or 150 mg/tab.
TAMOXIFEN: Axillary node-negative breast cancer after surgery. This drug reduces the level of estrogen, which feeds breast cancer. Often prescribed for retroperitoneal fibrosis.
TAPAZOLE: Anti-thyroid drug.
TAXOL: Also ... "paclitaxel". For treatment of ovarian cancer and early and advanced stages of breast cancer. Common side effects include hair loss, lowered white blood cell counts and numbness.
TAZORAC: Acne gel medication. It is also a topical agent used for psoriasis (related to Vitamin A).
TEGRETOL: For generalized tonic-clonic ... partial and mixed seizures.
TELFA PAD:
TEMOVATE: A cortisone medication that is incorporated into an Orabase paste that keeps the medicine on the surface of mouth sores.
TEMPRA: Chewable tablets, syrup or drops ... analgesic, antipyretic.
TENACTIN: Used for several ailments such as ingrown toe nail and athletes foot. Make sure you select the proper one.
TENECTEPLASE: Clot busting medication which can reduce the time it takes to treat heart attack victims from 90 minutes to five seconds using a single injection to dissolve clots.
TENEX: A medication used for hypertension. Dose is usually 3 milligrams per day maximum and typically 2 milligrams per day at bedtime.
TENORETIC: Hypertension.
TENORMIN: A beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and reduces hypertension (high blood pressure). Used in the treatment of angina (chest pain), hypertension, and arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats).
TENTANYL: A gas used as a general anesthetic.
TERAZOL 7: Antifungal vaginal cream.
TERAZOSIN: Used to relieve bladder sphincter muscles.
TERBUTALINE: Bronchodilator.
TERRAMYCIN: Antibiotic (tetracycline type).
TESSALON: Antitussive for cough.
TESSALON PERLES:
TETANUS TOXOID: An activated immunizing agent.
TETRACAINE OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION: Used to anesthetize the eye.
TETRACYCLINE: Susceptible infections of conjunctivae and cornea; adjunct to severe acne. Do not mix with dairy products because it can make the drug less effective.
TEVETEN: For the treatment of hypertension. "Eprosartan" is the active ingredient.
THALIDOMIDE: A sedative. This medication was responsible for disfiguring thousands of unborn children in the 1950's when it was widely thought to be a cure for morning sickness. However, infants were born with stunted limbs that had not fully developed. The medications properties of limiting blood flow is currently being used to starve and prevents the growth of cancers by preventing the growth of new blood vessels (which feed the tumors).
THEO-DUR: Asthma; chronic bronchitis, emphysema.
THEOLAIR: Also called ... "theophylline anhydrous". Respiratory smooth muscle relaxant. Available in 125 mg, 250 mg, 300 mg, 500 mg.
THEOPHYLLINE: A bronchial widener; it is used in the treatment of bronchial asthma, bronchitis, emphysema. Should not take St. John's wort with this medication because it can lead to loss of control of asthma.
THERAFLU: Correctly spelled ... "TheraFlu". Different mixtures available ... 1) flu and cold medicine for upper respiratory and 2) flu, cold and cough medicine which is a decongestant, antihistamine, antitussive.
THERAGRAN: Liquid multiple vitamins supplement.
THEROGUININE: Currently being researched.
THIACIDE: Urinary anti-infective.
THIAMINE: Thiamine, vitamin B1, is involved in carbohydrate metabolism in the body. Thiamine supplements are necessary to treat or prevent stomach, heart or nerve problems caused by inadequate thiamine amounts. Thiamine deficiency can result from a poor diet or conditions requiring increased need, such as pregnancy or illness.
THIAMYLAL: A gas used as a general anesthetic.
THIAZIDE: A category of diuretic drugs.
THIORIDAZINE: For psychosis ... sedative.
THIOPENTAL: A gas used as a general anesthetic.
THORAZINE: Reduces anxiety, agitation, vomiting, hiccups, nausea.
THYMOGLOBULIN: Used bi kidney transplant recipients. It is an anti-thymocyte globulin.
THYMULIN: A natural remedy that boosts the immune system when taken once per week.
THYROGEN: For thyroid cancer. Its generic name is "thyrotropin alfa".
TIAZAC: Angina.
TICLID: Prophylaxis of thrombotic stroke in selected patients who cannot take aspirin.
TIGAN: Used against nausea and vomiting.
TILADE: Anti-inflammatory.
TIMENTIN: Bacterial septicemia, lower respiratory, bone and joint and skin structure, and urinary tract.
TIMOLOL: Antiadrenergic ... eyedrops for glaucoma.
TIMOPTIC: Eye drops.
TINCOBEN: Correctly spelled ... "TinCoBen". Skin protectant (tincture).
TOBRAMYCIN: An anti-biotic agent effective in the treatment of septicemia.
TOBREX OPHTHALMIC OINTMENT: For susceptible infections of the cornea and conjunctiva.
TOFRANIL: Used as an antidepressant ... antineuritic.
TOLAZAMIDE: Adjunct to diet in type II diabetes.
TOLECTIN: Anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), analgesic and antiarthritic ... non-steroidal.
TOLNAFTATE: For ringworm (tinea).
TOPAMAX: For partial seizure therapy.
TOPICORT CREAM: Currently being researched.
TOPROL: Angina, hypertension. Categorized as a beta-blocking drug that can assist the heart in beating more effectively.
TORADOL: This medication is a nonsteroidal anti?inflammatory drug that relieves pain and reduces inflammation (swelling) It is used to treat pain usually after surgery. The tablets are used only to complete therapy begun with the injectable form. 15 mg, 30 mg.
TPA: Abbreviation for "tissue plasminogen activator" which is a drug which appeared in the early 90's to dissolve blood clots. It is a revolutionary treatment for heart attacks and strokes ... treatment must be given within three hours of the stroke to be effective.
TRANDATE: Hypertension.
TRANSDERM-NITRO: Currently being researched.
TRANSDERM SCOP: Seasickness patch. For the prevention of motion sickness. Also used to treat labyrinthitis.
TRANXENE: Anxiety.
TRAVIST-D: Sustained release decongestant / antihistamine tablets.
TRAZODONE: Depression with or without anxiety.
TRENTAL: Also called ... "pentoxifylline". Facilitates blood flow through clogged arteries. Intermittent claudication. Permits red blood cells to pass more easily through capillaries.
TRIAMCINOLONE: Glucocorticoid ... used to treat psoriasis.
TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE: Inhalant for asthma.
TRIAMINIC: Oral infant drops, decongestant. Also, antihistamine.
TRIAMTERENE: Diuretic.
TRIAMCINOLONE CREAM: For dermatitis.
TRIAVIL: Antipsychotic; 10-25 mg.
TRIBIOTIC: For eye infections.
TRICOR: Antihyperlipidemic.
TRIDESILON CREAM: An ointment which is a topical anti-inflammatory (desonide) ... 0.05%.
TRIDIL: For congestive heart failure combining with myocardial infarction ... a type of vasodilator. Nitrate medicines include glyceryl trinitrate (also called nitroglycerin). Common tradenames include tablets; such as Anginine and Tridil TRIENTINE: Wilson's disease adjunct.
TRILAFON: Nausea, psychosis.
TRILISATE: For the relief of mild to moderate pain, fever reduction, reduction of swelling / inflammation. Typically used for arthritis and muscle injuries.
TRIMOX: Amoxicillin sensitive infections, including ear, respiratory, genitourinary tract, skin and soft tissues.
TRINALIN: Antihistamine, decongestant.
TRIPHASIL: Oral contraceptive.
TRIPTAN: Commonly used to treat migraines. Should not be taken when using St. John's Wort because nausea and anxiety can result.
TROFAN: Dietary amino acid supplement.
TROFANIL: Anti-depressant.
TRUSOPT: Eyedrops for glaucoma.
TUSSIONEX: A narcotic ... antitussive ... antihistamine.
TUSSI-ORGANIDIN NR: For non-productive coughs.
TWINRIX: Combination vaccine for hepatitis A and B.
TYLENOL: Grains 10; Note: Be careful of sound alike Talwin.
TYLENOL WITH CODEINE: i.e. 1.7/5 ml
TYLOX: Trademark for a narcotic pain medication.
TYROSINE: An amino acid present in most proteins.
