GABAPENTIN: For seizure control. See "Neurontin". It is also effective in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy conditions like burning feet.
GADOLINIUM: An element used in contrast media for MRI's.
GANTOFIN: Currently being researched.
GANTRISIN: Eye drops; bacteriostatic.
GARAMYCIN EYE DROPS: Ophthalmic solution.
GARAMYCIN OINTMENT: Gentamicin susceptible skin infections.
GAS-X: Also called ... "simethicone". Over-the-counter medication for flatulence. 80 and 125 milligrams.
GAVISCON: Antacid.
GELFOAM: Absorbable gelatin sponge often used as an aid in surgery.
GEMTUZUMAB: Also called ... "Mylotarg". For AML.
GENASENSE: For cancer.
GENTAMICIN SULFATE: Antibiotic given to relieve severe infections.
GENTIAN VIOLET: Topical anti-fungal.
GHB : Correctly spelled ... "GHb". Abbreviation for "gamma hydroxy butyrate". The illegal date rape drug. It's effects are similar to alcohol but can be lethal when mixed with alcohol or other drugs.
GLATIRAMER: Shown to retard the relapsing symptoms of multiple sclerosis.
GLIPIZIDE: Adjunct to diet in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
GLUCAGON: Glucagon is a hormone that causes the liver to release glucose into the blood. It is used to quickly increase blood sugar levels in diabetics with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
GLUCONORM: A pill for diabetics, which regulates peaks in blood sugar after meals.
GLUCOSAMINE CHONDROITIN: Provides nutritional support for healthy joints and cartilage.
GLUCOTROL: This medication is used in the treatment of non?insulin dependent diabetes. It must be used in conjunction with proper diet and exercise to help decrease blood sugar levels.
GLUCOPHAGE: Adjunct to diet in type II diabetes mellitus. Glucophage comes in 500 milligrams and 850 milligrams dosages.
GLUCOTABS:
GLYBURIDE: Used to treat non?insulin dependent diabetes. It is used in conjunction with proper diet and exercise to help decrease blood sugar levels.
GLYNASE: Adjunct for diabetes.
GLY-OXIDE: For minor oral inflammation and/or denture irritation.
GLYSET: Adjunct to type II diabetes.
GOLYTELY: Properly spelled ... "GoLYTELY". A laxative used to clear the intestines.
GONAL-F: Also called ... "follitropin alfa injection". For infertility in males and females.
GRAVOL: A medicine that is used to decrease vomiting and nausea due to narcotics. It also improves the painkilling effects of the narcotics ... antihistamine ... results in sedation.
GRISEOFULVIN: Fungistatic.
GUAIFENESIN: Quiets coughing by thinning the mucus of bronchitis so it can be expelled. It is the active ingredient used in Humibid and Robitussin.
GUIATUSSIN: A narcotic antitussive decongestant.
GLYCINE: Urologic irritant; amino acid.
GYNECORT: Feminine itching not due to yeast infection.
GYNE-LOTRIMIN: For vulvovaginal candidiasis.
